The Fiji Coat Of Arms

The Fiji Coat of Arms includes a number of symbols that represent their country. It was granted by Royal Letters Patent on 4 July 1908.

It features a shield in the centre. At the top of the shield is a lion holding a cocoa pod, and below there is a cross. In the segments of the cross there is a sugar cane, coconut palm, bunch of bananas and a dove of peace. The shield is also a major feature of their flag.

The supporters on either side are shield are Fijian warriors dressed in mulberry bark skirts, one holding a lance and the other warrior holding a pineapple mace.

The crest features a wreath Argent and Gules as well as a traditional canoe with outrigger.

At the bottom is the Fijian motto, "Rerevaka na kalou ka doka na Tui" meaning "Fear God and honour the King".
